Help a Child in Need Succeed

The Faith Alliance supports Reach Out Lakota's Back to School Program through their Annual "Help a Child in Need Succeed" Backpack Drive. Many of our church partners participate each July by distributing sponsorship cards to their congregants who then shop for school supplies and backpacks for local students in need.  

Over the past several years, The Faith Alliance has been one of the top supporters of this program, contributing up to 90% of the need for these local children.  The number of students helped has grown steadily over the past several years! 

In 2024, 14 church partners participated in our backpack ministry for Reach Out Lakota.  Together, we helped provide school supplies for 712 Lakota students in need with donations totaling over $9600!   

In 2023, 12 church partners participated in the program helping to supply 658 Lakota students with needed supplies.  That was a 28% increase over 2022 when 13 church partners donated $10,765 in school supplies and monetary contributions that helped provide 513 Lakota students in need with supplies to start the school year.  Back in 2021, 12 church partners donated $13,670 in school supplies and monetary contributions for 481 Lakota students in need.
