Adopt-a-Child Christmas Drive

Each year church partners support Reach Out Lakota's Holiday Program by purchasing toys and gift cards for children in need in our community.  The program also supported Faith Community UMC Choice Pantry's Christmas Toy Shop Together in the past.  These programs provide toys or gift cards for nearly 1000 children in need each year.  Parents who participated in Faith Community UMC Choice Pantry's Christmas Toy Shop were able to give their children Christmas gifts by purchasing donated gifts at drastically reduced costs.  Email Cathy Borders, Director of Outreach, at info@thefaithalliance.com for more information.

2024

This year's Christmas Drive is currently underway!  Final collection date will be December 9th.  Due to a change in the needs of the community, Faith Community UMC is not hosting a Christmas Toy Shop in 2024, so we are collecting gifts for those served by Reach Out Lakota only.  We anticipate helping to support 1100 children in need this Christmas!  Visit https://reachoutlakota.org/events/holiday-giving-program.html to donate directly to Reach Out Lakota.

2023 

This year's collection ended on December 4, 2023 with 11 church partners participating.  Over 1000 children in need received gifts and gift cards at Reach Out Lakota and Faith Community UMC Choice Pantry!

2022 

The Christmas Drive kicked off November 1st with 12 church partners participating.  Over 1000 children in need received gifts or gift cards at Reach Out Lakota or Faith Community UMC this year!  It was a joy to see the wonder of Christmas on so many families' faces as they received gifts for their children.

2021

This program became an official outreach program of the Faith Alliance in 2021.  Twelve church partners participated in the program in 2021 helping to provide gifts for nearly 1000 children at Reach Out Lakota and Faith Community UMC.  A special thank you to Hillandale Communities for transporting our donated gifts to Reach Out Lakota.
